Our Committees:
Urban Design and Planning Committee
The Urban Design Committee under the leadership of the General Manager, Peter Asimakos meets on a monthly basis at noon. It is the committee's mandate to enhance through beautification the streetscape within the Business Improvement Area (BIA) as well as partner with the City of Saint John and other stakeholders that work toward improvement.
Uptown Development Committee
The Uptown Development Committee meets on a monthly basis at noon. The mandate of this committee is to promote and prioritize business development opportunities.
Marketing and Events Committee
The Marketing and Events Committee meets on a monthly basis at 8:00am and can on occasion meet bi-weekly. It is the committee's mandate to promote the businesses within the BIA as a destination of choice. Currently their primary focus is on tourism, retail services, festival, events and cruise.
Environmental Committee
The Environmental Committee, under the leadership of Anne McShane (Feel Good Store) meets monthly with a goal of lessening our carbon footprint and making the uptown a greener place to work, live and play. Our current agenda includes an anti-idling program, and a compost/recycling pick up program for businesses. We've got lots of other green to-dos on the list and there are no limits to the greening up possibilities for Uptown Saint John. Keep your eyes alert for green programs coming to your Uptown!
